Know what HIVE does—and what remains yours to decide.
HIVE supports private expert and matter workflows. It does not replace professional judgment, turn expert profiles into a public directory, or make unsupported promises about work, outcomes, availability, or turnaround.
For experts
- Joining is free. HIVE charges no listing fee and takes no commission from expert professional fees.
- Participation is non-exclusive. Experts set their own rates and may decline any matter without penalty.
- Profiles are private by default. Firms see only information allowed by the progressive-disclosure workflow; identity is not disclosed merely because a profile exists.
- CVs are stored privately, malware-scanned, and used to propose profile fields. Suggestions become professional facts only after the expert confirms them.
- Professional verification is optional unless a particular engagement requires additional checking. Self-reported information is distinguished from information independently checked by HIVE.
- HIVE does not buy opinions, control professional judgment, or guarantee work or earnings.
The lawyer retains you. The truth employs you. Use the same professional standard regardless of retaining side, stay within your expertise, disclose uncertainty, change your opinion when the evidence changes, and decline unsupported work.
For law firms
- A matter creates the tenant-scoped workspace needed to hold intake, authorized documents, service selection, payment state, and deliverables together.
- Matter files are not public. Expert candidates receive only information counsel authorizes through the existing disclosure and access-grant workflow.
- Each fixed-price HIVE service shows its exact HIVE fee, scope, deliverables, and cancellation terms before Checkout. Expert professional fees are separate unless a service explicitly says otherwise.
- After payment, HIVE records the signed payment event, creates one fulfillment task, and shows order status in the firm workspace. Human-reviewed work is identified as such.
- When current network supply is insufficient, HIVE may open a Concierge Search. That is a search workflow, not a promise that an expert will be found.
- HIVE does not represent that uploading material creates privilege or preserves privilege. Firms remain responsible for authority to provide information and for disclosure decisions.
CVs and uploaded documents
CV and matter uploads use private storage and server-side authorization. Supported files are malware-scanned before extraction or use. Quarantined files cannot be extracted or downloaded through the application. CV replacement is versioned; an expert controls whether suggested fields are accepted. HIVE does not silently infer licenses, certifications, current practice, languages, or jurisdictions as confirmed professional facts.
Verification language
- Self-reported
- Entered or confirmed by the expert; not represented as independently checked.
- Independently checked
- Reviewed through HIVE's audited verification workflow.
- Not supplied
- No claim is made. Absence of optional evidence does not itself prevent ordinary match eligibility.
When a workflow does not complete normally
- No immediately eligible expert: the firm sees a truthful empty state and HIVE may open a privacy-safe Concierge Search.
- Expert declines: the response is recorded without penalty and does not expose matter records.
- Checkout cancelled or pending: no paid fulfillment is represented as complete; the order remains in its recorded state.
- CV cannot be parsed: the expert may continue manually; no proposed field becomes fact without confirmation.
- Work Alerts find nothing: no message is sent merely to create activity, and no work is promised.
